Clogau Two Queens Ruby Heart Locket, 3SALWL2.
Lewis Carrolls Queen of Hearts was inspired by two famous queens; Margaret, of The House of Lancaster and Queen Victoria. In Through the Looking Glass, Alice is also crowned Queen. At the centre of this exquisite locket is a sparkling red ruby which acts as a tribute to the heart.
These pieces are inspired by the magical adventures of Lewis Carrolls Alice. Alice Liddell, the young girl who inspired the author, first visited Llandudno in 1861, staying at the Tudno Villa apartments, now the St. Tudno Hotel. The Liddell family also had a holiday home at Penmorfa on the West Shore.
The Clogau brand was first brought to life when a local Welshman named William Roberts made an exciting discovery in the rural mountains of Snowdonia. Roberts was able to extract a stockpile of rare Welsh gold that was then used exclusively to create the jewellery that founded the Clogau brand.Since then, Clogau jewellery has become renowned around the world not just for their striking designs but for being worn by members of the Royal family including Her Majesty the Queen and the late Princess Diana of Wales.
